Desert Landscape Oil Painting

Description

Dry mountains, spiny shrubs and cacti, take a drive deep into the desert with and enjoy this fantastic original desert landscape oil painting.

This painting was inspired by a work trip to New Mexico. I had never been to New Mexico before. I was able to visit White Sands National Monument while there. That’s a very interesting place. Surrounding the desert are different mountain ranges that look very different than your typical Bob Ross style mountains so I wanted to paint them. They had a unique look to them. I wanted to paint them at distance like I saw them at first and also with a bit more detail as you would see once you got closer.

Using a combination of a Bob Ross original and my real life inspiration, I composed a classic desert landscape oil painting. 

Painted with quality oil paints using the Bob Ross style wet on wet technique.

This is not a print or digital art. This is a physical painting using real oil paints with texture you can see and feel.
