Angler’s Peace. Painting #44
Angler’s Peace is painting #44. It is an original piece. I did not follow along with a Bob Ross episode at all. It was inspired by a photo someone shared from a fishing trip. I saw it posted and thought it would make a nice painting so I tried my hand at it. Of course I took some creative liberties with the scene and added a few things.
This original painting was a great exercise to learn composition and apply some of the techniques Bob Ross typically employs. It was my first original in a few months. I have to say, however, that I was under the influence of narcotics. I had just had a surgical procedure and was recovering. I wanted to take advantage of that time off of work to be artistically productive. I had to rest a lot but art typically isn’t hard on the body so I was able to do some of that during my recovery period. Anyway, I was on Percocet when I painted this picture. I didn’t realize what effect it had until I was off of them. Still didn’t turn out too bad.
I don’t know about you but I’d love to go fishing at a spot like this. Here’s the reference photo.
Looks like a great spot to catch some trout!
I should try this painting again only next time not under the influence of narcotics. Hope you enjoy this painting. It is available for sale in my Art Store.
