Mountain Galaxy. Painting #28
Mountain Galaxy
Date Painted: June 17, 2017
Size: 11 x 14 canvas
Mountain Galaxy is my 27th painting.
This painting is a variation of Starry Galaxy. I was planning a demo painting to raise money for my office’s holiday party. I had an idea of what to paint but I needed to practice a bit to make sure I could do it from memory. That actual painting will be posted soon. So I did this one on a smaller canvas.
For this one I followed along with Nic Hankins on Twitch. I only followed to make sure I did the sky right.
Here are the colors and equipment used.
Colors
- Black Gesso
- Liquid Clear
- Alizarin Crimson
- Bright Red

- Yellow Ochre
- Van Dyke Brown

This one came out great too! I love the way the mountain turned out. The thing I struggled with the most was the splatter to create the stars. I still didn’t get that right. Other than that, I think it looks awesome. It prepped me for the painting to come. This was another popular one that ended up being sold.
I hope you enjoy this painting. Have any questions or comments? Let me know.
Happy Painting!
