Abstract Series of Paintings.

A few weeks back, I had an idea while watching Bob Ross before bed. Every night while I fall asleep, I put on a Bob Ross episode. It never fails to knock me out. I last maybe 5 minutes before I’m out.

I can’t recall exactly which episode it was but he was doing a black canvas painting. He did his typical thing with it and the pattern he started out with gave me an idea. I had to try to capture it on canvas.

I had a few 8 x 10 canvases laying around so I used those to get my idea down. Here is my first one I tried.
I was feeling inspired but it didn’t quite turn out how I intended so I improvised. Let’s call it Purple Craze. My technique and design I wanted didn’t turn out quite right so I just went with some vertical bars. I do like the color though.

Since the first one didn’t turn out like I imagined, I didn’t give up and tried a different color.  Thalo green is one of my favorite oil painting colors.

This technique I was trying worked a lot better with this color. I rather like this one. How about you?

I was really trying to make this color work. Worked better this time but I’ve figured it out for the next one whenever that will be.

Abstract art isn’t quite my thing. However, it was fun to just create with no boundaries.  Though my vision didn’t work out, I’m not even mad. I got to put some paint on the canvas. Any day you can do that is a good day in my world. It kind of teaches you to let go and not be uptight.
